Experts in the seismic field gathered in San Diego to share the latest advances in topics like earthquake science, research, risk communication and engineering. During the conference, the San Diego Earthquake Planning Scenario, developed over the past five years by a group of practitioners, researchers and stakeholders led by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute San Diego Chapter, was revealed. This scenario takes a look at the possible impacts of a hypothetical magnitude 6.9 earthquake on the Rose Canyon fault. Lessons learned from the July 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes were also analyzed during the three-day conference.
