Coverage Options for Condominiums

CEA’s earthquake insurance for condo-unit owners allows you to choose coverages that meet your coverage and budget needs.

Coverage A:
Building Property
5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, or 25% of Coverage A limit.
  • Optional coverage
  • Available limits: $25,000, $50,000, $75,000, $100,000.
Coverage C:
Personal Property
5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, or 25% of Coverage C limit.
  • Optional coverage but must be purchased with Loss of Use coverage.
  • Available limits: $5,000 or $25,000.
  • $500 included for damage to some breakable personal property.
Coverage D:
Loss of Use
No deductible.
  • Optional coverage, but must be purchased with Personal Property coverage.
  • Available limits: $1,500, $10,000, $15,000, $25,000, $50,000, $75,000, $100,000.
Coverage E:
Loss Assessments

5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, or 25% of Coverage E limit.

Pays for a policyholders share of certain assessments charged by the Condo Association against its condo-unit owners.

  • Optional coverage
  • Available limits: $25,000*, $50,000, $75,000, or $100,000 

*$25,000 coverage limit is available only if the fair market value of the condo unit is less than or equal to $135,000.
 

Emergency Repairs Paid once the covered damages exceed the Coverage A or Coverage C limits.

Pays for the emergency measures taken to prevent further damage to covered property, up to the limits stated below.

Coverage A: Building Property

  • $1,500 is included in the Coverage A limit.

Coverage C: Personal Property

  • The lesser of $1,000 or 5% of the Coverage C limit.
Building Code Upgrade Paid once the covered dwelling damage exceeds the Coverage A & B or Coverage E deductible.

Helps bring the condo-unit up to the building codes in effect on the date of the loss, up to the limits stated below.

Coverage A: Building Property

  • $10,000 paid as additional insurance.

Coverage E: Loss Assessment

  • $10,000 is included in the Coverage E limit.
