It was not only a big win for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, but also a record-breaker! The Quakes defeated the San Jose Giants, 11-4, on what was considered the longest 9th inning game in Quakes history! This victory took place during an exciting game sponsored by CEA.

On April 20, Quakes fans had the opportunity to witness another great ball game played by their 2018 California League Champions, while having the chance to be educated, in-person, on earthquake preparedness. It was CEA's “Earthquake Preparedness Night” and CEA staff came to LoanMart Field loaded with pamphlets, giveaways and valuable tips for fans interested in learning how to be better prepared to survive and recover from California’s next damaging earthquake.

Some of the topics offered at CEA’s informational table included reminding residents that a standard homeowners policy does not include earthquake damage and teaching them how to purchase a separate earthquake insurance policy; the value in retrofitting older houses to strengthen them against earthquake damage; and safety information such as how to properly Drop, Cover, and Hold On when an earthquake strikes.

This was the second consecutive year that CEA sponsored a special “Earthquake Preparedness Night,” which included a colorful fireworks show for fans after the game. Fans also had the opportunity to bid on special CEA edition jerseys to raise money for American Red Cross disaster preparedness and relief efforts in California.
