CEA Brings Home the Gold

Members of the California Earthquake Authority (CEA) Communications & External Affairs department brought home the top honor this month at the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) annual conference in San Diego. CEA Marketing Manager Bryan Byrd and graphic designers Niki Wehling and Elizabeth Perez were on hand to accept the Gold Award of Excellence in the Printed Publications, External/Special Purpose Publication category.

 

The winning submission was the CEA 20th Anniversary Report, which was conceptualized, written and designed completely in house by CEA in 2016. The report includes financial information, a timeline, a history of policy upgrades and a map of notable California earthquakes. Since December, the report has been distributed to CEA’s Governing Board, and community stakeholders and partners.

The 2017 CAPIO Excellence in Communications Awards Gala was held on April 5 at the historic Prado in Balboa Park. There were 218 entries in all categories from agencies across California.
