California Wildfire Fund
In 2019, CEA became the Administrator of the California Wildfire Fund
By law, the Wildfire Fund must be segregated from the California Earthquake Authority Fund. No CEA policyholder supplied funds or any other assets or resources available for paying earthquake insurance claims are used to support the administrative expenses or claims of the Wildfire Fund.
Consistent with that required segregation, CEA established a separate website for the California Wildfire Fund – www.cawildfirefund.com. This website also has information regarding the California Catastrophe Response Council, the public body that oversees CEA’s work as Wildfire Fund Administrator, and about CEA’s work in 2025 and 2026 on the SB 254 Natural Catastrophe Resiliency Study.
